Tiny Desk AI rap videos we made
Made with this template from a group photo or a few single photos.
One group photo, the whole band
Four friends in one backyard photo. Two of them clap and sing behind the red keyboard, the guy in the grey hoodie gets the lead singer's close-up, and the sax solo closes it. Nobody wrote a note; we cast it from the photo.

Three solo photos, you pick the lead
Three friends sent one photo each and wrote "the guy in the rust shirt sings lead". He got the close-up, one friend sits at the keyboard, one plays sax, and we drew two new faces for the back row, so none of the original performers is left.

+1What is a Tiny Desk AI video?
A Tiny Desk AI video is the viral Outstanding Tiny Desk clip remade with new faces: backup singers clapping behind a red keyboard, a lead singer laughing into the mic and a sax solo, all played by the people in your photos, with the original song.
It works best with clear, well-lit photos with every face in view. You get a 15-second video with sound, ready in about 6 minutes.
Who plays what in the band
Five spots, three shots. Name anyone in the "Who plays what?" box; we place the rest.

The Outstanding Tiny Desk AI trend
In June 2023 NPR Music posted Charlie Wilson's Tiny Desk Concert, filmed in a small office packed with bookshelves and records. He closed the set with the Gap Band's Outstanding: backup singers clapping behind a red keyboard, Wilson laughing into the mic, a saxophone solo to finish.
On October 18, 2026 a TikTok account put college football coaches whose teams had just lost into that clip, and it passed 2.6 million plays. Within a week NFL and NBA teams, influencers and groups of friends had their own Outstanding Tiny Desk AI versions.
The joke is a group you know singing a soul classic with a straight face in a cramped office. Here the band is your friends, your coworkers or your team.

Why our Tiny Desk AI videos look like you
Not a face swap on a stock clip. Before anything renders, AI looks at your photos (face, hair, outfit, the fur on your dog) and writes the shot for those photos, then the template's fixed beats keep the timing of the trend.

Tips for a great Tiny Desk AI video
Cast the band
Write who plays what in the box: "photo 1 sings lead, the girl in red at the keyboard, my dad with glasses on sax". Anyone you don't name, we place. The lead gets a 6-second close-up, so give them a sharp photo.
Group photos work
Each face should be sharp and not too small. Up to 5 people make the band; with fewer, we add new faces in the back. Skip heavy filters, stickers and frames.
Post it well
Vertical clips play full screen on TikTok, Reels and Shorts. Tag everyone in the band when you post.

Tiny Desk AI: questions
What is the Outstanding Tiny Desk AI trend?
In June 2023 NPR Music posted Charlie Wilson's Tiny Desk Concert, filmed in a small office packed with bookshelves and records. He closed the set with the Gap Band's Outstanding: backup singers clapping behind a red keyboard, Wilson laughing into the mic, a saxophone solo to finish.
How many photos do I need?
One is enough. Add up to 4: single photos, a group photo, or a mix. The band has 5 spots, and any spot without one of your people gets a new face, never the original performers.
Can I choose who sings lead or plays sax?
Yes. Write it in the Who plays what box, by photo number or by look: "the guy in the grey hoodie sings lead, photo 3 on sax". The roles are the lead singer, the sax player, the singer seated at the red keyboard and two backup singers standing behind. Anyone you don't name, we place; without a note, the person in your first photo usually sings lead.
Who sings in the original Tiny Desk video?
Charlie Wilson, the Gap Band's lead singer, in his NPR Tiny Desk Concert from June 2023. Outstanding was the song he closed it with.
Is there a Tiny Desk AI CapCut template?
CapCut's popular Tiny Desk template, live since October 24, cuts and stitches your clips to the song; it doesn't put new people in the band. Here all five spots are recast with the people in your photos.
Can I use a group photo?
Yes. One group photo is enough if every face is sharp and not too small; we pick up to 5 people from it. You can add single photos too, for example a close-up of whoever sings lead.
What if my group has more than 5 people?
The band has 5 spots, so 5 people make it in and nobody plays two parts. Name the ones you want in the "Who plays what?" box; otherwise we pick the clearest faces.
What song is in the video?
Outstanding, the Gap Band song Charlie Wilson closed his 2023 Tiny Desk concert with. The original live sound is kept and lined up with the band's moves.
Is this affiliated with NPR or Tiny Desk?
No. AIRap isn't affiliated with NPR, Tiny Desk or Charlie Wilson. Tiny Desk AI is the name of the internet trend, and we make our own version of it from your photos.
How do I make a Tiny Desk AI video?
Add your photos (single photos or a group photo), tap Make my video, and download the 15-second MP4 about 6 minutes later. The original Outstanding sound is already in it.
Why does it look like me?
It's more than a face swap. Claude Opus 5.5 studies your photos and plans the shot for this template, then Kling O3 recreates the scene with your crew in it, and the original Outstanding sound is lined up with the moves.
How long does it take?
Most videos are ready in about 6 minutes. You can leave the page; it's saved to My videos.
Is Tiny Desk AI free?
There's no free version: one video is $6.99, paid when your photos are ready, with no account, subscription or watermark. With a credit pack it uses 16 credits, as little as $5.56 a video. If we can't use your photo, nothing is charged, and a failed video can be made again for free.
Is there a Tiny Desk AI app?
No app to install. AIRap works in the browser on your phone or computer, and the finished MP4 downloads straight to your camera roll or files.
Do I need an account?
No. You can buy credits, upload and make videos without signing up. Sign in only to get your videos on another device.
Who can see my photos?
Only you. Photos and results are private, and they are removed after 30 days or when you delete them.
What photo works best?
Clear, well-lit photos with every face in view. A group photo works if each face is sharp. The lead singer gets a 6-second close-up, so make sure the person you want on lead is easy to see.
Can I post it on TikTok or Instagram?
Yes. There's no watermark, and you can post it anywhere.
